Hepatic coma is a disease when the patient suffers from the loss of consciousness. This happen when the liver is damaged because the liver tissue has been badly destroyed and due to chronic or acute liver disease. In this condition poison and other toxic reaches to the brain and brain stops, its’ proper functioning.  The patient’s liver fails to remove toxic substances from the blood, which causes unconsciousness. This disease is very dangerous; there are some other causes which leads to this disease are mentioned under :

  • Kidney disease
  • Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus
  • Liver disease
  • Neurologic conditions
  • Dehydration
  • Bleeding from the intestine
  • Low oxygen level in the body
